On Friday, September 10, the Quebec Veterans Foundation was privileged with an invitation to the official opening of the new brick and mortar facility, The Pepper Pod. Brain child of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Sandra Perron, she, along with her friends, family, put in their blood, sweat and tears to create an oasis in the forest where she would be able to host female veterans and military spouses for the Transition Lifeshops.
Located in the heart of Old Chelsea, The Pepper Pod is committed to developing a strong network for CAF* women veterans, those soon to be released, and spouses of military members, as well as the RCMP. The mission is rooted in the belief that these women all share a unique cultural experience that can be valued when shared with other women who are transitioning or serving.
As part of the BFLF Women Veterans Program, the Quebec Veterans Foundation is proud to be a supporter of this beautiful project and we are privileged to contribute to the well-being of women veterans in a larger than life setting.
Congratulations, Hon. Lt.-Col. Perron! You are an inspiration, a guiding light, and we value you.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation for their financial support of this project.
